With the crack of what sounds like a gunshot huge parts of glaciers break off and fall into the surrounding water.  If you're fortunate enough (I was) it happens right in front of you when you're holding your camera right at that part of the glacier.

This sculpture of an albatross memorializes the 10,000 men who perished in the 800 shipwrecks around Cape Horn.  Sailors respected this beautiful bird, believing that the souls of departed sailors lived inside the albatross.
